The manga “Darwin’s Game” has officially concluded after being serialized for nine years in Akita Shoten’s “Bessatsu Shonen Champion”. The manga’s 30th volume, which encompasses the 125th and final chapter, is set for release on January 5, 2024. In the upcoming issue of “Bessatsu Shonen Champion”, fans can anticipate a spin-off tale highlighting Rein Kashiwagi, who was the victor of a popularity poll conducted in November of the previous year. To celebrate the manga’s conclusion, an artistic rendering of the character Shuka has been unveiled.

“Darwin’s Game”, crafted by the FLIPFLOPs duo (Yuki Takahata – artist and Shu Miyama aka Ginko – writer), initiated its serialization journey in January 2013. The manga’s success paved the way for an anime adaptation in 2020, produced by Nexus Studio. The show had the talents of Yusuke Kobayashi, Reina Ueda, and Nichiki Omori as the primary cast. Yoshinobu Tokumoto took on the directorial role, while Shu Miyama penned the script. Additionally, the franchise boasts a light novel named “Darwin’s Game: Flag Game”, adorned with illustrations by Tayaki Takaha. As of now, the manga hasn’t secured an English licensing deal.
The anime adaptation was originally available for streaming on Funimation but has since migrated to Crunchyroll for specific regions. The narrative revolves around Kaname Sudo, an ordinary high schooler, who gets ensnared in the mysterious “Darwin’s Game” app. The game compels players to combat using unique superpowers known as Sigils. As Kaname grapples to comprehend the game’s essence, he faces the daunting challenge of battling potent adversaries.
